Truth is a frustrated team isn’t a functioning team.
I know it would never be your intention to frustrate your team…but…
Would you take a moment before you read this list and ask God to open your eyes to any areas in which you may unknowingly be causing some frustration?
- Unclear expectations
- Failing to start meetings, events, etc. on time
- Dismissing team members ideas
- Wasting their time
- Making it about you
- Creating unnecessary drama
- Omitting prayer from the process
- Complaining
- Excluding others
- Repeatedly dropping the ball
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)
If God’s brought your attention to something on the list ask Him to help you make the necessary changes.
That may mean you need to meet individually with each team member and apologize.
You may need to seek out a mentor or some training to improve your leadership skills.
That may even mean you need to spend some time in prayer about whether or not God is calling to you to continue to serve in the role that you are in.
