I am excited to introduce you to another Women’s Ministry Leader today – Roberta Dunnicliff has a great Raffle Basket Project to share with you!
I love how many women come together to make this project a big success!
I would guess many Women’s Ministries have tried this money making idea but I am so proud of how successful our raffle basket projects have become.
We use our earnings (approximately $4,000 a year) for a high school scholarship, youth mission trips, sponsoring women to attend our retreat and supporting other ministries, and providing free events for our ladies.
We put together approximately 100 to 125 baskets for our Christmas and our Spring Tea.
We also have a jewelry and small basket raffle at our retreat.
All of the items are donated by ladies in the church. Many think of us as they clean out their closets or are down sizing.
We meet twice a week for approximately two months before an event organizing baskets by theme or color, cleaning, arranging and cellophane wrapping.
Each basket has a lunch bag that describes it’s contents.
We have a team that transports and sets up the items, a team that sells tickets (a dollar for one, $5.00 for 6, $20 for 30). When the attendees purchase tickets they are assigned a number to place on the back of the ticket. They then place the tickets in the bags of the baskets they hope to win.
We have yet another team that pulls a ticket from each basket during the Tea (after the deadline is announced) and tapes the winning ticket.
Finally, yet another team quickly delivers the basket as the winners are announced.
The ladies love this and our only expense is the cello wrap and ribbons.
Roberta Dunnicliff is “leader” of Women’s Ministry. However, she has a team of ten women who all give as much time and talent as she does. She is located in Oakhurst, California, at Sierra Pines Church. Her church has approximately 600 members. She is a retired teacher and a grandmother.

Can you please tell me what all you put into your gift baskets?
Valerie, I am sorry I don’t know if Roberta will see your comment or not. It’s been several years since she wrote this post and I have not been in contact with her for some time. You may want to try to search on Pinterest for ideas.
