Last week a leader in our Women’s Ministry Toolbox Community Facebook Group asked for advice on throwing a baby shower for their local pregnancy care center.

Packing and processing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child is admittedly one of my very favorite service projects. For over 14 years our family has packed shoeboxes and now serves every year at the Processing Center in Charlotte.

When you think about the women in your church, would you describe them as “Great Commission Christian Women?” Do they actively seek out others to with which to share the gospel? Do you see them interacting with unbelievers?

Does your mind sometimes draw a blank when your team sits down to discuss possible service project ideas?

Are you looking for a fun mission project for your women for the fall? An Operation Christmas Child Packing Party provides an opportunity for your women to work together to bless children around the world!

Back in the fall our women’s ministry team held an event focused on the homeless in our area. We invited Urban Ministries to come and share about the work they do. After their presentation we assembled Care Packages for the Homeless.

I’ve recently shared “What It’s Like to Give a Child a Shoebox” and “How to Pack a Better Shoebox”. Today I want to share some ways your women’s ministry can get involved with Operation Christmas Child.

Our family’s been packing shoeboxes for well over 13 years now and I considered myself a pretty seasoned shoebox packer. However, my trip to help distribute shoeboxes in Grenada in October has forever changed the way I’ll pack a shoebox.

In the fall of 2015 God allowed me to be a part of something life-changing. Life-changing for me and the children I would soon meet.
