Years ago our moms’ group had a scavenger hunt in the parking lot! Our ladies raced out to the parking lot and laughed as they dug through the items in their cars trying to score as many points as possible.
It was one of our most memorable games by far!
I’ve created my own version of this fun game for you to use for your next Women’s Ministry, small group, or mom group meeting.
Game: Vehicle Scavenger Hunt
Group Size: 9+ (divide into groups of 3-5)
Time Needed: 15-20 minutes
Supplies: One copy of the Vehicle Scavenger Hunt per team; pen/pencil for each team; timer; optional- clipboards for writing on; optional – prizes.
Instructions:
Divide the women into groups of 3-5. Once divided explain that they are going to be going on a scavenger hunt. They must choose one team member’s vehicle to search for the items on the list.
Encourage them to choose the one group member whose vehicle will yield the most treasures!
Say: Once all teams have received their list (placed upside down, no peeking) and I say “GO!” you may flip your paper and hurry out to the parking lot. The team with the most points will be declared the winner. You will have 10 minutes to search, however, this is also a race – 1st team to return earns 30 points, 2nd team earns 20 points and 3rd team earns 10 points.
Have each team add up their points upon returning and congratulate the first, second, and third-place teams.
Winner: Has the most points.

Notes: Consider giving a small prize to the winning team such as Hershey’s Nuggets in gold paper (looks like a bar of gold/treasure). This could be a great lead-in to a devotional on treasure i.e. Matthew 6:21 says “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” If the weather is rainy, have a back-up game planned and save this one for a better day.
Those of us with chronically messy cars may finally be rewarded!

I always love having an ice breaker at our women’s ministry enrichment gatherings. I have done what’s in your purse before but this one is going to be real fun! Thanks for sharing this idea. 🙂 Blessings in your ministry.
Tiffany, I hope your group enjoys it! It’s still one of my favorite games of all time! 🙂
