FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
How many tickets will be available?
We have reserved space for 70 leaders (double occupancy). A wait list will be started once tickets have been sold out. If additional rooms are available at the lodge, we will open up additional spots.
Will there be time to network with other leaders from my area?
Yes! We expect women will be driving from several surrounding states and possibly flying in to join us. We will create space and time for you to meet leaders that live near you.
How can I find a roommate?
We've created a special Gather and Glean Facebook Group where you can search for other leaders in need of a roommate. If necessary, we will place you with another leader prior to your arrival. You can also add a roommate after you have registered by emailing us.
Will you be able to accommodate special dietary needs?
We will be able to accommodate those who need to eat a gluten-free diet. You must notify us at the time of registration. If you have another needs, please contact us and we will find out if arrangements can be made.
Will the event be recorded and available for purchase afterward?
We did not include funds in our budget for recording the retreat. We wanted to keep ticket prices as low as possible for you all! At this time, we are not planning on making a recording.
Will there be another retreat next year and will it be in the same location?
We hope so, but it will not be at this location. Our vision is to host regular women's ministry leader retreats around the country so that women in diffierent locations can attend. We have not secured a hostess team for 2020 yet, but will be sure to share that information as it becomes available.
Which is the closest airport?
You'll want to fly into Huntsville International Airport. It is about an hour and 15 minute drive to the Lake Guntersville Lodge. You may be able to find a carpool buddy in our Gather and Glean Facebook Group.
Are single rooms available?
If you have a specific need for a single room, please contact us about availability and pricing.
Can I bring my child, family, or spouse?
While we love children and families, we want you to be able to focus on the content and build relationships with other leaders on the retreat, so we ask that you please do not bring your family or any children with you. Thank you for understanding.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable. If you are unable to attend and have found someone to take your place, please submit the name and email address of the woman who will be using your ticket.
Founder of Women's Ministry Toolbox, Cyndee has been praying and waiting on God's timing for the opportunity to gather women's ministry leaders IRL for a retreat.
As a former elementary school teacher with over 20 years of experiencing ministering to women, Cyndee's ministry experience at 5 different churches, educational training, Bible Study Fellowship training, and theater background combine to present trainings that are rich, interesting, and interactive.
Cyndee shares weekly tips, encouragement, resources, and online courses for women's ministry leaders on her site Women's Ministry Toolbox. She also oversees the Women's Ministry Toolbox Community Facebook group, an active community of over 2,000 women's ministry leaders.
She regularly serves as a Bible study leader in her church in Charlotte, NC.
Cyndee is a wife, mom, and recipe collector. She loves dark chocolate and escaping into a good book.
An enthusiastic cheerleader for retreats and women's ministry training, she can't wait to meet you in September!
Christy McCollough is quite literally an answer to Cyndee's prayers for a helper and teammate to launch IRL training and fellowship opportunities for women's ministry leaders. Christy is Cyndee's right hand and sounding board. Not only will Christy help emcee the event, but she'll also be leading workshops on Friday.
Christy is from Hernando, MS and has been married to Brad for 27 years and they have 3 wonderful children. She is the Women's Ministry director at her church where she and her family serve.
Christy and her husband Brad have a ministry called Lot Ministries where they minister to the least of these through their church by assisting with monthly bills while teaching these friends a trade. After learning the trade, Lot Ministries will walk along side them in searching and finding a job, all the while being the hands and feet of Jesus and mentoring them.
Christy has had several years experience in leading and speaking at Women's Retreats. What she loves most about what she does is seeing God work in bringing a group of women together at just the right time, in just the right place to worship Him together. It is all His timing and all for His glory.
Amy Satterfield wears many hats! She's the wife of Troy for 22 years, and the mom to 4 wild and wonderful children! Amy lives in Fayetteville, TN. When she's not working at her school as a speech-language pathologist, she's serving at her church as the worship leader. She is also the founder of an interdenominational women's ministry called Women of the Way.
Amy has a passion for ministering to women- especially women in leadership! She is so excited to be part of this wonderful retreat. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask!
Amy is our "boots on the ground" and local lead hostess for the retreat. She's also part of our retreat worship team, The Thread.
Devonna Powell believes in the power of prayer! Her 15 year marriage to Jeff with her 3 beautiful children is evidence of God’s miracle working power!
She serves as teacher to 1st-3rd grade students in her home church as well as the event coordinator for church wide events such as Vacation Bible School, the Fall Festival, the Christmas Progressive Dinner, and Christmas Blessings (an adopt-a-child for Christmas outreach). When she’s not crafting, painting, or reading, you’ll find her at family game night with her fun family!
If you are feeling a little lost or don’t know where to go next, please ask Lori Kathleen Cline, one of our hostesses.
Maybe you need a prayer partner? Lori understands the power of prayer and spiritual warfare since she is a teacher at the Downtown Rescue Mission, Huntsville, Alabama and a teacher and advisory council for Christian Women’s Job Corp, Harvest, Alabama.
When Lori is not driving around Alabama, she lives in Fayetteville, Tennessee and has been the wife for thirty-two years to Richard Cline a retired Naval Flight Officer and physician. Lori is the author of numerous books including Finding the Way: Proclaiming Jesus as Truth.
The Thread includes Tammy Haney, Erica Johnson, and Amy Satterfield with Madison Quick as manager. Through singing and playing, these ladies desire to bring women into the presence of God worshiping together as the Body of Christ. Though they are a contemporary praise band, they love to incorporate both new and traditional songs into their worship sets. Collectively, they have several years of experience leading worship. The Thread is looking forward to worshiping with you this weekend!
God brought together a group of women who love to worship Jesus Christ. Individually, each woman’s story is unique in her season of life, where she worships, and how she was spiritually formed. Collaboratively, God holds them together woven with the threads of unity and love (Col 1:17).
You can connect with The Thread on Facebook.
