Tip 5 – Childcare Forms (Free Printable)

Welcome to 31 Women’s Ministry Tips!

Tip #5 is a Childcare Form.

Women's Ministry Tip 5 - Childcare Forms (Free Printable)

Childcare is critical for many of the moms in your church and community. Without it they are unable to attend Women’s Ministry events.

Comfortable moms and comfortable kids are more likely to return.

One way to make them comfortable is to collect information about:

  • Allergies
  • Naptimes
  • Pacifier Use
  • Feeding Schedules

Our team created this form several years back to use for our daytime Bible studies. It was modeled after a form our nursery workers were already using on Sunday mornings. We also used a variation for our MOPS groups.

I’ve included a copy of it for you to download. Just click the link below.

You have my permission to copy it for church or personal use. No need to ask!

The Sonshine Box

A friend of mine was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I really wanted to send more than just a card to encourage her during her recovery.

During one of my (almost) daily visits to Pinterest, I noticed the idea to send a box sunshine – an assortment of yellow goodies.

What is more cheerful and sunny then a box of yellow treats?!

The Sonshine Box - Send a box of encouragement! Post includes free printable verses.

I filled it with mostly silly items: yellow toe socks, sparkly (sort of tacky) yellow bracelet, yellow candy, yellow nail polish, an assortment of yellow polka dot party goods (in hopes she’d soon have something to celebrate), etc. She re-named it the “Sonshine box”. Of course!!

And so the Sonshine box was born!

I’m now on a mission to gather lots of yellow goodies knowing that many others in my circle could use a box of Sonshine.

Who might need a box of Sonshine:

  • Woman going through a divorce
  • Widow
  • Mom struggling with newborn/post-partum depression
  • Anyone undergoing treatments for cancer
  • One suffering from a long-term illness

Really anyone in a difficult circumstance would benefit from a box.

Yellow ideas for your box:

  • Flip-flops
  • Toe socks
  • Candy
  • Nail polish
  • Notecards
  • Journal
  • Note pads
  • Necklaces
  • Bracelets
  • Pens
  • Leis
  • Body Pouf
  • Flower Seeds
  • Lotion
  • Lemonade
  • Lemon Tea
  • Yellow scripture verses (see below!)

Ideas for your Sonshine box.

Shopping tips:

  • Browse your local Dollar Tree (Dollar Store, Mighty Dollar, etc.)
  • Check the dollar section of Target
  • Arts & Crafts stores, such as Michaels and AC Moore, often have baskets of goodies
  • Stock up when you find things on clearance

Scripture Verses:

I’ve created 4 sets of notes for your boxes – each one includes a different verse of encouragement. Feel free to print them all, mix and match, or just use one set.

I took one verse and placed it in a 4×6 frame from Hobby Lobby. You could also laminate them and put a magnet on back.

There are so many ways you could utilize this idea in your Women’s Ministry.

  1. Plan an evening where you assemble boxes to send out (homebound members, college students, names submitted).
  2. Add this to the tasks of your Care Committee.
  3. Create a submission process for the women of your church to request a box for another woman.
  4. Collect donations from your church for the boxes (lessening the budget burden).
  5. Create a Sonshine Bag, instead of a box, and personally deliver them (along the lines of Blessing Bags)

Whether you take this on as a team project or a personal mission, spreading a little Sonshine is a great way for us to show love to one another.

8 Prayers for Your Team (Free Printable)

8 Prayers for Your Women's Ministry Team with Free Printable

Praying for your team members is the most powerful and most important thing you can do.

Sometimes I get busy and forget to pray for my team. It’s embarrassing, but it’s honest.

Sometimes I seem to pray the same thing over and over. Stuck like a broken record.

Sometimes I need some inspiration and a new perspective.

I came across these verses over the course of several months. Each one jumped out to me as something I could turn into a prayer for myself and for my Women’s Ministry Team.

I thought you might find them useful too.

Here are 8 specific prayers to pray for your  Women’s Ministry team:

  1. Father, please help them to know when to speak and when to be quiet. “Watch your words and hold your tongue; you’ll save yourself a lot of grief.” Proverbs 21:23 MSG
  2. God, sustain their passion for serving the women of our church and community. “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” Romans 12:11
  3. Jesus, direct their eyes and keep them focused on You alone.  “Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.” Psalm 119:35-37
  4. Lord, give them peace when faced with difficulties. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
  5.  Father, give them the energy and desire to complete the task ahead. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23
  6. God, give them words of wisdom as they speak to others. “My mouth will speak words of wisdom. “ Psalm 49:3a
  7. Jesus, I ask you to give each team member times of rest and renewal. “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Matthew 6:31
  8. Lord, protect them from spiritual and physical attacks on their faith and their family. “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
